My unfinished audrey Kawasaki tattoo
My unfinished audrey Kawasaki tattoo
(via sweetpetuniablossom)
This took 4/5 hours to do! This was done by my amazingly talented sister, mostly in free-hand. It’s Audrey Kawasaki inspired. I just want to let you guys know that this isn’t a real tattoo, it’s painted by my sister who is an artist. I am going to have a real back piece tattoo in the future, not just yet, I actually have a design ready. Like I said on a previous post, I just need to find a VERY good tattoo artist to capture the emotion in the design. The design by the way is a completely different one from this, although this one is EXTREMELY beautiful it doesn’t mean anything to me. I want all my tattoos in the future to be significant and aren’t just there for the sake of being there you know?

Audrey Kawasaki is one of my favourite artists- her pieces are instantly recognizable and possess such intricate delicacy.
Isn’t Mac Cosmetics’ Chen Man Love and Water Collection’s promo imagery totally Kawasaki-esque? It’s like seeing a favourite painting come to life!
I Want To Play, Audrey Kawasaki

“currently working on my next show for Jonathan Levine Gallery in New York. September 8th.
will be exploring with solid blacks. crisp lines and patterns.
juxtaposed with the subtle soft of face, figure, and such.
painting layers of intricate black shapes is completely meditating.
the challenge is how to incorporate other elements with it to make an interesting image.
hope the next few months will be fruitful. :)”audrey kawasaki is quite possibly my favorite artist, contemporary at least. i still remember when i first saw one of her girls, i think it was Necklace, and i still remember buying my first magazine featuring her, a Juxtapose with the Octogirls spread. Her work has inspired me for a long time now and every time i come across her new pieces, it’s catalyzes a certain enlivening joy that i wish i could share with someone. During dark days i think i most appreciate that feeling, an inspiration to push and better myself as an artist, no matter how proficient, and maybe grow as a person in the process, so that i can maybe inspire that feeling in someone one day.
idk, i figured if anyone wasn’t familiar i’d share. thought maybe if you think like me you’d care. inspiration is perhaps my favorite feeling
My very first tattoo show I got to tattoo at this February and I chose to design a piece inspired by @audkawa using three elements from three of her pieces making them one design for my best friend. We had four hours to play, more will be added/enhanced in the future. ❤❤❤❤❤ (Taken with instagram)
